Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how we work. If your question isn't here, just call - we'll tell you honestly.

The work we do

What kinds of jobs do you take on?

All three - residential, commercial and industrial. Homes, from a single outlet to a ground-up custom build. Small commercial and tenant improvement buildouts. And industrial service work for shops and facilities: machine circuits, three-phase service, control panels.

New construction included, rough-in through finish, for both homes and commercial buildings - service entrances, panels, circuits and lighting layout, staged for inspection at every step.

Can you install an EV charger?

Yes. We install Level 2 EV chargers for any vehicle, including the dedicated circuit and any panel work the install requires. If your panel is already full, we will tell you that upfront rather than after we have started.

What if I do not know what is wrong?

That is normal, and it is a big part of what we do. Flickering lights, breakers that keep tripping, outlets that stopped working, a burning smell near a panel - describe what you are seeing and we will figure it out. You do not need to know the cause to call.

Do you work with builders and general contractors?

Yes, and it is a large share of what we do. We handle ground-up rough-in through trim on custom homes and commercial buildings, coordinate around other trades, and keep the job inspection-ready at each stage so your schedule does not slip.

Recent examples include a 7,000+ sq ft custom home in Kuna and a full commercial new-construction build for 208 Dental in Meridian.

Pricing & quotes

Is a quote free?

Yes. If you know what you want done - an EV charger, a panel upgrade, a remodel, a new build - tell us the scope and we will price it at no charge. Every job is quoted at a flat rate upfront, so you know the number before any work starts. No hourly meter running.

The one exception is when nobody knows what is wrong yet. Finding the fault takes time on site, and that is a diagnostic call - see the next question.

What is a diagnostic call, and when do I need one?

You only need one when the problem has to be found before it can be priced - a breaker that keeps tripping, lights that flicker, an outlet that died for no obvious reason. We cannot quote a repair until we know what is actually broken.

A diagnostic visit is $75, labor only. From there it goes one of two ways:

  • Diagnosed and fixed in the first hour: $150 total.
  • If we can’t fix it in the first hour: You pay only $75. The repair quote is free, with the $75 applied to the quote.

So the worst case is $75 and a free quote. Materials are always quoted separately.

If you already know what you want installed, you do not need one. That is a free quote.

Response & availability

How quickly will you get back to me?

We respond to service requests within 1-2 business days. If something is urgent, calling will always be faster than the form.

What if I have an electrical emergency after hours?

We are not a 24/7 emergency service, but we do take urgent calls when we can. Call and leave a voicemail - and if you do not get through the first time, call a second time, which gets past Do Not Disturb. If Kyle is available, he will call you back.

After-hours and weekend work is billed at $200 per hour, travel time included. We will confirm that with you before heading out - no surprises.

Credentials & coverage

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Idaho All Electric is licensed and insured in the state of Idaho. Kyle holds both a journeyman electrician license and an electrical contractor license, and our Idaho contractor license number is in the footer of every page on this site.

Do you pull permits and handle inspections?

Yes. We pull the permits the job requires and we are there for inspections. Work is done to code and left inspection-ready at every stage - that is the whole point of hiring a licensed contractor rather than a handyman.

What areas do you serve?

We work across the Treasure Valley - Meridian, Boise, Eagle, Nampa, Kuna, Star, Caldwell and Middleton. We also serve Emmett, Payette, New Plymouth, Parma, Wilder, Marsing, Horseshoe Bend and Mountain Home - see all other areas. If your town is not listed, call and ask. The answer is usually yes.

Still have a question?

Call and ask, or send us the details and we'll get back to you in 1-2 business days.
